I’m much better at just writing dialogue so I quickly wrote this down. I’m not sure if I’ll use it or not in my fic though. It’s pretty crappy so far.

But I like thinking about what happens after Aperture in my AU. These two don’t stop thinking about each other. Chell wants badly to be able to forgive GLaDOS, but GLaDOS has done so much to her and her friends and so many other people. This constant mental battle leads her deep into an alcohol addiction to try and stop thinking about GLaDOS. She forgives Wheatley however, understanding that he was corrupted during a lot of it and wholly incompetent for the rest. She doesn’t consider him her friend in any way, but she feels a horrible guilt about throwing him into space even if revenge was satisfying in the moment.

Likewise, GLaDOS starts considering her actions more with her newfound conscious. She views her and Caroline as separate individuals still, but finds so much about Caroline that seems to affect her. Eventually, GLaDOS lets Caroline’s mind dictate more of her actions when testing Atlas and P-Body. She wants to leave Aperture behind but believes she has a responsibility to be there. She feels jealous of Chell for being strong enough to leave. She wonders what Chell’s doing on the surface rather often. Eventually, GLaDOS builds her own body for herself and Caroline so they aren’t trapped in one place anymore. It takes a long time, but she manages the courage to do a short visit. This is about how it goes.

I feel like everyone’s emotions are complicated in this game and that’s something I love exploring when I write, but I’m not a very good writer. I’m just very thinky. Either way, I’ve challenged myself to write this fic and enjoy writing it so I’m going to try and finish it. The plot is starting to really fall into place I think.
